Welcome to this corner where you can express all your feelings, how have you been? I have been taking walks with my friends because going out in the street distracts me and relaxes me too much. I don't know if you know but I suffer a lot from negative thoughts, I mean I think too much and I have been going to a psychologist.
The psychologist has explained to me that we all face times when negative feelings seem to take over. Whether it's anxiety, sadness or frustration, these feelings can affect our daily lives if we don't know how to control them. While it's impossible to avoid them completely, there are healthy ways to manage overthinking. That's why I'll discuss six ways you can control it.
1. The first step to stop it is to identify the source of your feelings. Take a moment to reflect on the cause. Ask yourself: What has triggered this emotion, is it a real problem or an exaggerated worry?
2- Build tolerance to distress. When I first heard this, I didn't know it existed. This is an essential skill to cope with emotional discomfort without feeling overwhelmed, by this I mean the ability to handle stressful situations, anxiety or emotional pain in a healthy way, without resorting to impulsive reactions. Instead of trying to avoid or run away from distress, the key is to learn to accept it.
3- Practice conscious breathing because it is one of the simplest and most powerful tools to calm the mind. I suggest that when you feel overwhelmed by negative emotions, try to pause and breathe deeply.
4- Go out and move, dance, because exercise is an excellent way to change your mood and it is super controlled. Even a gentle walk can generate a sense of well-being and mental clarity.
